今回のレッスンでは、海外で服を買う時に使える英語フレーズをお伝えします。まずは、いくつかの単語をお教えします。

服を探している場合
服屋 (clothing store) にも売り場があります。売り場のことは英語で何というのか覚えていますか？section と department と言いますね。探している服があれば、店員に次のように聞いてみましょう。
- Where is the (…) section/department?
～の売り場がどこですか？ - Can you tell me where the (…) are?
～がどこか教えてもらえますか？ - Can you show me where the (…) section/department is?
～売り場の場所を教えてくれませんか？
Where is は「～がどこですか」意味しますよね。Can you tell me とか Can you show me のパターンと一緒に使えば「～がどこか教えてもらえますか？」と言う意味になりますね。会話の練習で使い方をお見せします。

すみません、紳士服売り場はどこですか？
Yes, it's on the left side of the store.
お店の左側にございます。Example 2
Excuse me, can you tell me where the formal wear is?
すみません、フォーマルウェアがどこか教えてもらえますか？
Sure, the formal wear is towards the back of the store.
はい、フォーマルウェアはお店の奥にございます。Example 3
Can you show me where the casual wear department is?
カジュアル売り場の場所を教えてくれませんか？
Okay, it's towards the right of the store.
はい、お店の右側にございます
casual wear は「ふだん着」と言う意味で、formal wear は「正装」と言う意味ですね。「スーツ」と「ドレス」はよく formal wear と呼ばれます。
服を試着したい場合
「試着室」とは 英語で fitting room と言いますね。店員に「試着できますか？」「試着室はどこですか？」と尋ねてみたい時に次のフレーズを使います。
- Where are the fitting rooms?
試着室はどこですか？ - Can I try this on, please?
これを試着できますか？ - I’d like to try this on, please.
これを試着したいのですが。 - Where can I try this on?
どこでこれを試着できますか？
では「いかがですか？」と聞かれた時の答え方をお見せします。

やめておきます。
fit は「サイズが合う」という場合に使用されます。ですから、試着した服が合っていた時に It fits (現在形) とか It fit (過去形) 使いて、後ろに 副詞 使いても OK です。
- It fits perfectly.
服がぴったり合っている。 - It fits great.
服がぴったり合っている。 - It fits well.
服がぴったり合っている。
試着した服が合わなかった時に It doesn't fit (現在形) とか It didn't fit (過去形) 使います。
- It didn't fit.
服が合わなかった - It doesn't fit.
サイズが合わない - It's too small.
これ小さすぎる - It's too big.
大きすぎる

「買います」と言う場合には次のフレーズを使えます。
- I like it! I'll buy it.
気に入りました。買います。 - I love it, I'll take it.
かなり気に入りました。買います。 - I'm gonna buy this.
これを買います。 - I'm gonna buy this, and pass on this.
これを買って、これをパスします
「やめておきます」と言う場合には次のフレーズを使えます。
- It was good, but I’ll think about it.
よかったですが、少し考えます。 - It didn’t look good on me.
私には似合いませんでした。 - It didn’t fit right.
ぴったりと合いませんでした。 - I’ll pass.
やめておきます (パスします)。
色・サイズについて聞く時
大きいサイズが欲しい時は bigger 使いて、小さめのサイズがあるか聞く時に smaller 使います。使い方とフレーズをお見せします。
- Do you this in a bigger size?
大きいサイズはありますか - Do you have this in a smaller size?
小さめのサイズはありますか？ - Do you have this in another size?
他のサイズはありますか？
服が好きですが、異なる色が欲しい時に Do you have this in (色) のパターンを使えます。this の代わりに他の名詞を使うこともできます。
- Do you have this in blue?
この青色はありますか？ - Do you have this in black?
黒色はあります？ - Do you have this shirt in green?
このシャツで緑色はありますか - Do you have these shoes in white?
この靴で白色はあります？ - Do you have this in other colors?
これの色違いはありますか？
