a matter of time (時間の問題)

It's only a matter of time とは 文字通り「時間の問題だ」という意味です。この表現は「It's only a matter of time before + 現在形の文」で表されることが多いで、「～するのは時間の問題だ」と言う意味です。いつ起こるか分からないけど、何かがいずれ確実に起こるという意味です。
